What is full-mouth dental rehabilitation?

Full mouth rehabilitation cases are individual and unique. Some common needs include excessive tooth decay, bone loss, extreme wear of enamel of the teeth, or a missing tooth. Treatment plans usually involve several procedures to rebuild or, at the same time, restore all of the upper and lower teeth over a period of time. 

Getting started

Dr. Nguyen’s first concern is your overall oral health and will, therefore, begin your treatment by addressing the issues that require immediate attention, such as pain, broken teeth or infections. Next, he will perform a complete examination to make sure there are no additional issues that have not been diagnosed. With a complete look at your current oral health situation, Dr. Nguyen will create a plan to address your issues.  Once a treatment path has been identified, teeth that cannot be saved will be extracted and the remaining teeth will be prepared for treatment. A temporary set of provisional teeth may be created and placed. 

Common treatments

Reconstructing your smile may include oral surgery, orthodontics, bone or tissue grafting, gum scaling and prophylactic teeth cleaning and periodontal care. Of course, no two cases are the same, and the only way to be sure of your needs is to work with a dentist you trust. While the process may feel long, it’s important to know that your progress will be monitored and adjustments can be made along the way.
