Full Mouth Rehabilitation FAQ
What are the benefits of a full mouth rehabilitation?
A full mouth rehabilitation is a dental treatment that aims to improve the overall health and function of the mouth. It involves a combination of restorative and cosmetic procedures to address various dental issues such as missing teeth, damaged teeth, and gum disease. The benefits of a full mouth rehabilitation include improved oral health, enhanced aesthetics, better speech and chewing ability, and increased self-confidence.
How will a full mouth rehabilitation improve your smile?
If you’re seeking full mouth rehabilitation, Dr. Nguyen will create a personalized plan tailored to your specific needs. This plan will include a combination of cosmetic and restorative dental procedures to help restore your smile’s health and appearance. For teeth that have decay that is too large for a regular filling, Dr. Nguyen may suggest the placement of dental crowns to protect and support them. If you have missing teeth, treatment options such as dental implants, dentures or a dental bridge may be recommended. These are just a few treatments that may be included in your full-mouth rehabilitation plan.
Will x-rays be required?
X-rays may be required as you work with Dr. Nguyen to develop your personalized rehabilitation plan. Dental x-rays will allow us to understand what is going on with your teeth and reveal issues which may not be noticeable to the naked eye. For instance, if a tooth has internal decay, an x-ray will allow our team to see it before you experience pain or discomfort. If you are worried about getting a dental x-ray, there is no need to be. Today’s x-ray technology has advanced to a point where they are entirely safe.
Will a full mouth rehabilitation be painful?
The treatments and procedures that are included in one patient’s rehabilitation plan may be completely different from another. While some plans focus on cosmetic issues, others may require more restorative treatments. Simply put, there could be some discomfort depending on the work needed to rehabilitate your smile. However, Dr. Nguyen will ensure you are as comfortable as possible during treatment. A local anesthetic and, in some cases, dental sedation can be utilized to ensure you do not experience any discomfort.
Are you a good candidate for full-mouth rehabilitation?
Only by visiting Dr. Nguyen can we determine whether you are a good candidate for full mouth rehabilitation. However, if you have multiple dental health problems and are looking to restore the appearance of your smile or both, you are likely an excellent candidate. Call our office today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Nguyen.
Full mouth rehabilitation at Tansley Woods Dentistry
One of the procedures that we do here at Tansley Woods Dentistry is what we call a full mouth rehabilitation, and that can take many different forms.
Full mouth rehabilitation is for patients whose dental health has been disrupted; the dental condition has changed and broken down over the years – it is a complete overhaul of their mouth.
Some of our patients have lost their teeth over the years, and from not replacing these missing teeth, their other teeth have started to drift, leaving uneven wear on their teeth and an almost collapsing situation.
Our office will provide a service where we reestablish their teeth to normal function, health, and comfort, just like they would have had it 20 years ago. That is what we call a form of full-mouth rehabilitation.
In such a situation, we may have to do some orthodontics to get started and move on to restoring their missing or remaining teeth to normal condition.
This process will take an average of 2 months to 2 years, depending on the severity of the condition.
