Hi Friends,
I’m super excited to start a new series here where I feature a Smile Makeover each month.
I will go through all the treatments, explaining the “what” and “why” in details, and show you photos of the progress and the final results. I think this is a great way for anyone interested in updating or even rehabilitate their oral health can learn about the process from beginning to end. I hope you’ll find it helpful and I hope I am able to alleviate the fears that often come with dentistry. Remember friends, I’m always just a phone call away.
Thanks for stopping by, and floss on!

Smile of the Month - April 2023
I have an unbelievable case to share of my patient who completed Invisalign treatment with me. Yes! You read correctly, the only treatment this patient received from me is Invisalign. For all of my doubters out there, Invisalign for adult orthodontic treatment really works. Just look at these photos.
Denielle came in to see me about her crooked teeth. It’s something she’s been self conscious of her entire adult life and has affected her self confidence. Her clinical case took 9 months and we whitened her teeth up to complete that beautiful smile.
Denielle, your bright and cheerful personality will lift any room you enter. I’m so happy to help with a dazzling smile to match it. Smile on and spread that positivity everywhere.
Smile of the Month - March 2023
A great story to sip your coffee with today.
Not all my work is about glamorous smile makeovers. Often it’s helping someone out of extreme pain and getting back their basic necessity to function properly orally.
My patient here had extreme dental fear and avoided the dentist for her whole adult life. She came in with a broken front tooth, and multiple failed adjacent teeth.
But her anxiety didn’t allow us to go full speed to treatment. We had to slowly get her comfortable with the idea of seeing me and receiving dental work from my team and me. Dental fear is real, and it affects so many adults. Oftentimes, it’s a repeating cycle of avoiding care due to fear, resulting in even more complicated dentistry. We took our time with this patient and made sure we communicated our intent very clearly. We were honest about the level of discomfort and made sure expectations were fulfilled. We started with gum surgery and completed it with a porcelain crown-bridge combination. This was the least invasive route, and she was most comfortable with it.
Look at us now, we did it, and here we are celebrating!
This one case was very rewarding for me personally. I witnessed a complete transformation in my patient mentally, emotionally, and clinically. She is now seeing the value of self-care and self-worth. She is now seeing us on a regular basis to upkeep her most valuable asset, her self-esteem.
If you are suffering from dental anxiety, please reach out to my team and me. We know it’s real, and we can help. Honestly.
Smile of the Month - February 2023
Here is a great multi-step smile makeover to share with everyone this February. Meet my young patient Roland. Roland came to see me with a few fractured and broken back molar teeth. The truth is he was never happy with his smile in general. My initial exam shows that Roland’s upper and anterior teeth are worn, and his overall bite was misaligned.
Roland was extremely motivated, so we got to work right away. My philosophy is always to bring my patient back to good oral health, so the priority is to take care of broken teeth. A crown was placed for the one I could save, and the one we couldn’t save was extracted; the site was grafted with bone, and an implant was placed. Due to his uneven gum line, we performed a crown lengthening process to achieve a straight gum line across his smile line. To prevent future teeth from getting more worn down and breakage, Roland began his Invisalign treatment to straighten out his misaligned teeth. This process took 7 months to complete, and now we have a perfect canvas to start beautifying. I placed porcelain veneers across his upper anterior teeth to achieve that dazzling and healthy smile, and now Roland can’t stop smiling.
I hope by seeing all the steps involved; you will appreciate the effort from both the patient and me that goes on behind the scene of a smile makeover. It is a serious commitment and investment, but I can assure you the end results are a lifetime worthwhile.
Smile of the Month - January 2023
Here is the sweetest story to share this month for a smile makeover. My patient here Mrs. Phalavong just received full mouth rehabilitation from me and of course we celebrated in style. But let’s go back to the start.
Two years ago, her daughter, Raong saw my work on here and reached out to me. Raong wanted my help for her mom’s dental needs. Mom has lost a few teeth over the years and the rest are failing her. Raong explained that her mom is too young and vibrant to not be able to live her life to the fullest. And after meeting Mrs. Phalavong, I agree wholeheartedly.
We immediately began treatment. I proposed an ALL ON X for her upper and lower where full arches of beautifully crafted zirconia dentures are anchored with implants. We began by extracting all her failed teeth, bone graft certain sites to accommodate the bone lost. Following were the placement of implants and lastly, the sitting of her upper and lower arches onto the implants. The process took over a year and Raong accompanied her mom to every single appointment. Some were long and Raong just brought her laptop to work at my office.
Throughout the process, I’ve become more acquainted with Raong and heard stories of how hard Mrs. Phalavong has worked to take care of her family and all the sacrifices she has made for her family and it all just make sense.
Raong is now also my patient and the day we celebrated mom, we also celebrated Raong’s Invisalign completion.
Congrats on being able to live your life to the fullest Mrs. Phalavong but I’m also celebrating you Raong! You did all this, for mom …
Not all heroes wear capes, and this has never been more true.
If you want to know more about ALL ON X please contact me and we can have that conversation.

Smile of the Month - December 2022
Please meet my patient, Jenn. She came in to see me 4 years ago wanting to better her smile. Jenn was an Olympian synchronized swimmer and her commitment to her profession has caused her teeth to experienced erosions over the years. We came up with a treatment plan that we’re both happy very happy with but you know, sometimes, life gets in the way.
I’ve been keeping in contact with Jenn through Instagram and recently, she calls me up and said, let’s do it! And yes we certainly did! We started with an aesthetic gum surgery to restore the symmetry of the upper arch. We placed an implant and crown and completed the smile makeover with a porcelain veneers. The progress took 4 months and improved at each appointment that by the time we revealed Jenn’s new smile to her, she teared up. (Me too a little to be honest)
Congrats Jenn! You are a genuinely beautiful person from the inside. Thank you for trusting me with your dream smile and allowing me to add that sparkle. I had so much fun, it didn’t even seem like work.
Smile of the Month - November 2022
The courage to be vulnerable, to show up, to ask for what you need, and to have the hard conversations.

I couldn’t be more happy and proud to be sharing John’s journey with me. John came in to see me 3 years ago, not happy with his smile and telling me he’s never smiled for pictures for a long time.
My clinical findings that requires immediate attention were his worn upper anterior teeth, chipped front tooth, the gap in between his two front teeth, missing teeth in the back and gum recession.
We came up with a treatment together in the priority that needs the most attention. John was on board to start. I did warn John that this will be a 2 years journey and that it wasn’t an easy one. We began with Adult Orthodontics, specifically, Invisalign to reposition John’s teeth. We continued on with a Gum Graft to address the recession and a Crown Lengthening to reshape the gum line. Implants were placed for the back missing teeth, broken crowns were updated and lastly, we prepared Porcelain Veneers for his anterior teeth to complete the full makeover.
Here is the hard truth, there were many appointments, some were long and some were uncomfortable but John never wavered. Now that it’s completed, John has told me that he can laugh out loud and is ready for his photo to be taken. LOL.
Thank you John, for trusting me from day one. Thank you for letting me be a part of your incredible journey, for showing up and for asking what you need!
